Dick DeVos Entrepreneur Executive

On February 13,2016, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 32 Melges challenging sailors assembled as rivals for the championship race on day two of the 2016 Gold Cup presented by the Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club.

Dick DeVos on Volpe was one point ahead of the nearest competitor current champion Alessandro Rombelli, on STIG sailing closely in second place.

The highlight of the day was the big turnout of adolescent sailors made possible by the Yacht Club Sailing Foundation, which allowed every Melge’s 33 seasoned sailor to take along a junior sailor boy on deck to absorb the knowledge, feel the sensation and the adrenaline rush of the Olympics of the sport of sailing being accompanied by the most determined,experienced and competitive sailors on the planet.

In day two at the peak of five out of 13 contests, Dick was in first place as he proceeded to advance by taking control at ultimate weather mark and then outstretched for the win.

Dick DeVos was born October 21,1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of co-founder of Amway Products Richard DeVos Senior. Dick is an entrepreneur executive. He held the position of CEO of Amway from 1993 to 2002 (Learn more about Dick’s time at Amway here: In 2006, he made his race for Governor of Michigan but conceded to Democratic incumbent Jennifer Grandholm. In 1993 he resigned from his position as CEO and President to return to Amway as President following his father (New Netherland Institute profile).

With Dick at the helm of this enterprise he broadened the performance to more than 50 countries and regions pandemically. In 2002 he monitored critical corporate reconstructing which created Alticor, the new guardian of its antecedent Amway and ultimately he left the same year.

In that financial year Alticor announced marketing assets of 4.5 Billion. 
He then rebounded to become president of the Windquest Group, which is an autonomous venture management corporation with capital in technology, production, and other divisions.

Dick attained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwest University as well as nominal doctorates from Grove City College, Central Michigan University and Northwood University.

In 2013,Forbes Magazine pronounced him as the 67th most affluent tycoon in the U.S.with lucrative assets of 5.1 Billion. He has been giving away millions a year through his family foundation.
